Slept with your laptop? Or become so overwhelmed that you just unplugged from it all?" The screening is made possible by a grant from the Harvard Schools Trust. The film, co-written by Harvard resident, Sawyer Steele, will be featured in Blu-ray at the Bromfield School's Cronin Auditorium. It is FREE and open to the public. Towners: The Harvard Portrait Project

Project: Over the next 12 months, local photographer, Bob Hubert, will create a series of 50 portraits of Harvard residents. The first installment of these portraits is currently on display in the old library. As the number of portraits grows, they will be on display in other venues in town, culminating in a final exhibit of all 50 images. The photographs will be made with large studio cameras and early lenses that were popularly used from the mid 1800’s through the mid 1900’s.  These large cameras, weighing hundreds of pounds, allow the creation of unique and striking images on large pieces of photographic film.  One of the cameras that will be used in the project was originally located in the Harvard General Store.

Want to Participate? Bob will set up these cameras at several town events throughout the year.  If you spot him, all you need to do is ask to have your portrait taken and sign a release that your portrait can be used for the exhibit if chosen.  If you wish some advance warning of where the photos will be taken, please check our facebook page called “Towners-The Harvard Protrait Project.  If there is a particular town resident you think should be photographed for the project, please let us know through the facebook page or through email at harvardtowners@gmail.com.  There will be several regular studio days where residents can attend.
