  What is the Artist Directory?

The For Art’s Sake Artist Directory is an updateable on-line directory that brings together and showcases local artists’ work, providing visibility for artists and a gallery of resources for the community. The directory helps artists access a wider audience through the website and encourages artists to connect to a virtual network beyond the local community. For Art's Sake is delighted to provide this resource for local artists and for a viewing audience in and outside the community thanks to the continuing support of our members.                        (Oil painting by Larry Malam)

 How can I submit my work to the directory?  

  If you would like to be added to the directory, send a short artist’s statement (up to 200 words including contact information) along with six to twelve jpeg photos of your artwork to melissayahia@gmail.com. If you have a website and want to link it to For Art’s Sake, please include it in your copy. Also indicate if your work is available for purchase.

Is there a fee for inclusion in directory?

With the artist level membership of $25, artists are eligible for listing in the directory. Once an artist is added to the directory, For Art’s Sake may contact you to feature you first as an Artist of the Month on the website and later in our Artist of the Month Live gallery space at the general store.  With a listing in the directory, participants also receive updates about other exhibition opportunities and special events on our calendar. Artists who participate in the Live Artist of the Month gallery program also receive a $50 honorarium from For Art's Sake for hanging their work. The support of artists, other community members, and organizations like the HCC and local businesses helps us continue to offer and expand our work within the community.

Can artists outside the community be added to the directory?

Currently, we are encouraging participation from artists who are connected to the community either as current or one-time residents, teachers, or through their occupations. If you have a special connection to the town and are interested in showing your work in this forum we encourage you to contact us.

Can I change my listing at any time?

Artists can send us current information and artwork as they wish to keep the directory an up-to-date and interesting resource for all who use it. Updates are made on a quarterly basis with a current membership.

The work contained in the directory should not be copied or reproduced without permission from the artist. To do so may violate copyright laws protecting the artists.
